The lodge is located 18 Kilometers South of Puerto Jimenez, in the area of Matapalo, (Cape Matapalo, located on the Southern most point of the Osa Peninsula ) 25 kilometers from Corcovado National park. After arriving in San Jose by one of the many servicing Airlines, Lacsa, Taca, American, Continental, or United, as well as three additional Central American lines, Hacienda Bahia Esmeralda, can be reached by flying on Sansa, Travel Air, private charter, or by driving to Puerto Jimenez. Flying time from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez is 45 minutes. The drive from San Jose to the lodge takes about 7 1/2 hours with much of Costa Rica's unseen beauty in route. (Surfboards longer than 6'8" can present problems on planes. Removable fins are recommended.) We suggest a length of stay to be from 3 to 7 days. Packages are available at reduced prices for stays longer than 7 days. These are our direct booking rates. Sept. - Nov. US $ 105 per person taxes incl. (Rack prices for low season) Dec. - Aug. US $ 120 per person taxes incl. (Rack prices for high season) Cancellations for reservations that have been pre-paid will be honored at a future date at the client's earliest convenience The above prices includes 13% sales tax, three gourmet meals per day. (Beverages and Bar are separate.) We accept Cash or Travelers checks. Sorry, no credit cards. Money can be withdrawn on Visa cards at the bank in Puerto Jimenez Monday - Friday. There are additional charges for laundering, if required, and for outside tours, sports fishing, guided hikes.. Bahia Esmeralda will make the arrangements for the pickup of guests, Transportation for guests is provided by local cab drivers at the Puerto Jimenez airport for a modest fee of $20 (up to 6 persons), for the twenty minute ride to the lodge We presently have two spacious screened rooms in the main lodge, each with private baths, and tastefully furnished with two queen size orthopedic mattress beds, and over-head fans, to provide relaxing comfort for our guests. We also have three additional private bungalows with decks, great views, private baths, overhead fans, and two queen size beds each.
